This event is a collaboration between Speculative Futures Montreal and Artificial Intelligence Governance and Safety Canada (AIGS). It also marks the dissolvement of the Speculative Futures Montreal chapter, and will serve as a moment to reflect on what the community needs next.
The event will feature casual presentations by Wyatt Tessari L'Allié, founder of AIGS, and Chloé Luchs, foresight consultant and co-founder of Plurality University Network.

Wyatt will begin with an overview of current AI risks, highlighting the connections between AI ethics and AI safety. He will then provide context on local and international governance efforts and explain how his organization is strengthening these initiatives through the recent launch of the Coalition for Responsible AI, a citizen-led movement.

Chloe, a Montreal-based foresight practitioner and experienced community builder, will speak about her experiences creating conditions for futures movements in Montreal. She will discuss how tapping into the power of collective foresight can help us build more ethical and desirable futures and share her experience working with citizen-led movements. Chloe will also help to hold space for discussions about what could be next when it comes to nurturing a local community of practice.

All experience levels and perspectives are welcome. We recognize that discussions about AI risks can be challenging, and we encourage participants to prioritize their well-being. The event will be bilingual, creating a welcoming space for both French and English speakers.
