AI is defining our future.
Let’s get it right.
Join Canadians across the country in calling for bold action to ensure AI is safe and beneficial for all.
Who we are
The Coalition for Responsible AI is a community of people across Canada working to ensure that AI is safe, the disruption is managed, and everyone shares in the benefits. We want elected leaders to take strong action to defend the public interest at this critical moment in AI's development.
Launched by AIGS Canada in 2025 and led by spokesperson Wyatt Tessari L'Allié, our goal is to provide a rallying point for anyone who is impacted by or concerned about AI, and to provide resources and opportunities to get involved, so that together we can effect meaningful change.

What’s at stake
Alongside the benefits, AI is bringing a tsunami of change and risks, and no one is ready. From jobs and education to safety and culture, people are already feeling the pain. With the tech sector in a global race to build increasingly powerful systems, the impacts we're seeing are only the beginning. If nothing is done, people will get left behind, and major accidents could happen. We need bold action to ensure AI is safe and beneficial for everyone.

Lots! Government can and should be doing things like ensuring it has the talent and capacity to respond to AI developments, passing laws that protect people against the harms, pushing for global talks, investing in AI safety solutions, and launching meaningful public consultations about what kind of future Canadians want.
For more detailed recommendations, read AIGS Canada's white paper Governing AI: A Plan for Canada.

At a minimum, we call on all political parties and elected officials to:

Have a plan
Every party should have clear policies for how they intend to address the disruption and risks facing Canadians.

Make AI a top priority
AI is developing rapidly and there is no time to waste. Measures need to be put in place before the end of 2025 if they are to protect Canadians from the greatest risks.

Engage Canadians
Meaningfully consult with constituents to make sure that the decisions made reflect what most Canadians want.
